When Paul and I decided to get married and unconventionally started looking for the perfect ring together, we thought it would be a long, arduous hunt in endless jewellery shops. The second shop we walked into was Varoujan and we immediately knew we were in the right place. The welcoming atmosphere as well as the friendly professional advice, inspires confidence that you’re not just being sold something, but that our personality and ideas are foremost in choosing the right ring for us. The moment I tried on the ring, we both knew it was “the one”. The grin on my face and tears in my eyes said it all really. During subsequent visits Varouj presented Paul with a selection of diamonds and expertly advised Paul on the “fiery” (as Varouj accurately described it) diamond that will remind us of this special time forever.The service was truly impeccable and the workmanship exceptional, thus I didn’t think twice to take my own design for cuff links, a wedding gift for Paul, straight to Varouj who as before provided invaluable advice on size, material and details with regards to engraving them.We have returned to Varouj on a couple of occasions already and will certainly continue to do so in future. When I decided it was time to pop the big question, I shopped around at “big-name” jewellery retailers and couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. When I left Bulgari I noticed Varouj’s shop next door. I knew I was in the right place within minutes. The service was impeccable, as was the attention to detail in his work. From coming up with a completely custom design on paper, incorporating the key elements I required, through to choosing the right diamond (I now know how!). Being the pedantic type, it took a few visits to get things right. At each point Varouj added confidence and expert advice. The end result speaks for itself. My now wife gets compliments from strangers at the most bizarre places, from international art exhibitions (it was in front of a Van Gogh believe it or not!) through to a dark nightclub.
